Forces thrash protesting polytechnic college students in Srinagar
Srinagar :The Students of Women’s college Srinagar on Saturday held protest against the braid-chopping incidents taking place in the valley. Protesting students raised slogans against the continuous incidents inside the college premises and demanded immediate nabbing of the culprits. They were raising slogans against the braid-cutting incidents and asked the state government and the police to nab the culprits behind these criminal acts.

In a horrific incident, a girl here was attacked with acid by two unidentified men . The 21-year-old woman was injured in her eye and face and is in critical condition, the police said, adding that she was attacked in Nowshehra locality of Srinagar. As per reports, the incident happened outside the Law College in Srinagar. TV reports said the two men came in a car and fled the scene after throwing acid on the girl. Students of the Law College staged a protest following the incident.

SP college students clash with police in Srinagar
Students of Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar and MPML higher secondary school on Thursday clashed with forces on Wednesday.Students raised massive anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. As soon as the students took to main road, police and para-military forces deployed there stopped the protesters triggering clashes.
The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today said that Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) has shown commendable progress since its inception and lauded the efforts of its faculty and administration for their dedication towards work. He said that 7000 students which have been enrolled in CUS in the first year is a great start for any new university. The Minister, who is also the pro-chancellor of varsity, was speaking at the valedictory function of maiden sports festival of CUS held at Government College for Women Srinagar.
